Unlikely
そうもない・そうにない
Means that an action is very unlikely. Made by removing ます from a verb and adding そうもない・そうにない.
Examples
コロナので今年も旅行しそうもない。 Because of COVID19, it’s unlikely I’ll travel again this year.
Sometimes
たまに
Means “occasionally”, “once in a while”.
Examples
彼女は抹茶をたまに飲む。 She occasionally drinks matcha.
時々
時々 means “sometimes”.
Examples
時々遊園地に行く。 I sometimes go to amusement parks.
Often
度々
度々 means “often”, “frequently”.
Examples
私の彼女は度々遅れてきます。 My girlfriend is often late.
よく
Means “often”.
Examples
最近、数学の練習問題をよくやっています。 I have been doing a lot of math exercises lately.
Always
いつも
Means “always”, “every time”.
Examples
夏の時いつもアイスクリームを食べます。 I always eat ice cream in the summer.
ずっと
Means “always”, “continuously”.
Examples
蛇がずっと好きだった。 I’ve always loved snakes.
たものだ
Used to talk about a past situation where something used to frequently occur. Used with a verb in the past tense (た) by adding ものだ.
Examples
子供のころはいつも森で遊んだものだ。 I always played in the woods when I was a kid.
